Brought home a new friend! Name's Chiisai Kasa (small umbrella) and it's a Dwarf Umbrella plant!
my dwarf umbrella plant is dying. i got it in February and its roots were over a volcanic rock. i put moss on the rock a while ago and i think that caused root rot. since then the plant hasn't done good. the roots are all brittle and falling off. not long ago my cat did decide to leap to the curtain and fall right on the plant and cause his 4 remaining leafs/stalks/branches to bend down.. since then little by little the leaves have been turning brown and dying. so today i cut the 2 remaining stalks off the bottoms were beginning to go brown and I'm ganna try to propagate them.. i clipped back all the dead roots and there is only 1 good green root left. i would have taken the plant off the rock but it looks like its been glued into a hole :/ i have scrubbed the rock in rain water and i hope now that he will begin to grow new roots. he's in the green house now. i read humidity will help the roots to form again. wish me luck.. i liked this little guy..
