How did the like, basis of your religion work?? I know about the valar and maiar, but how did you guys specifically go about worship or practice ?
we had a major temple to mahal in the middle of the lowest level of gabilzahar, and everyone had a smaller shrine in their house, but the more common form of worship was spirit worship and ancestor worship. pretty much anyone who left gabilzahar had little amulets for protection: mahal’s hammer was the most common one, sort of like a crucifix for a christian. then there were family crests, to keep your ancestors close to you. i carried my grandmother’s sigil with me after she passed, especially whenever i would leave gabilzahar for trading missions. amulets made out of animal bones were said to give the bearer a property of that animal: a bear’s strength, a dog’s loyalty, etc. gems also had symbolic value. sodalite was a common one to foster confidence, and quartz for strong relationships, etc.
