It's so funny to me you run into this hot dwarf and you're like wow Bioware another hot blond dwarf I can't romance and also it's Sebastian's voice actor I think sometimes they just like teasing us.

exploring a casteless dwarf's first time experiences on the surface could have been so cool to go through if bioware had the time or capability of making it satisfying. no other origin story would have the same kind of mind breaking revelations all at once like a brosca has to go through

how do you react to the sky if you've lived your entire life until that point underground? how do you comprehend the vastness of it and not go a little fucking insane? and the sun? like you know the surface had one but you just never really thought about it with any real understanding, if you thought about it at all. but there it is: a giant fireball in the sky and you just now have to live with that. also possibly insanity inducing. and seasons? weather? the smells associated with them? the wind? the foliage? the night sky?

oh i have feelings about dís seeing stars and the moon for the first time

and the fact that dwarves not being able to dream is never brought up in origins in the context of a dwarf warden is another lost opportunity. like, what do you do when you go your whole life never experiencing that kind of thing to suddenly you are but it's all fucked up because it's a tainted dragon talking to you, watching you, calling you, and you have ZERO concept of it? how do you go to sleep at night knowing that's what awaits you and knowing that this is a normal occurrence for everyone else? fascinating and horrifying.

basically, dís brosca has had a wild fucking time in the, like, week she's been in on the surface in ferelden, and the blight and darkspawn are, funnily enough, the most normal things about all this shit for her.

Fëanor would have been such buddies with the dwarves. Seriously...Fëanor and dwarves would have defied all elf-dwarf bounderies.

At first he’d have been all like “what are these lil hairy things” but after seeing the stuff they created on a daily basis, he would just have been hanging out with them 24/7. Erebor, Khazad-Dum, the Glittering Caves, they’re all basically his dream home. Fëanor would teach them things about crafting, they’d teach him things about mining and delving for gems, it would have been epic.

And they’d take digs at each other constantly in typical “ar, ye wee elvish bastard” style, but it would have been the ultimate brotp.
