Years ago I was playing Dylan in a pan-fandom superhero-themed RP, and through months of character development, Jason Todd ended up in a QPR with Sleeper & then adopted Dylan Brock as a little brother.

Through the game's power mechanics I gave Dylan more "traditional" symbiote powers, including the ability to bond to others as a symbiote himself.

We had planned a whole plot of The Joker kidnapping Dylan and forcefully bonding to him because what a PERFECT way to hurt Red Hood!! Plus all the power boosts you get from having a symbiote bond!

And Dylan is stuck, but not helpless. Since Dylan's associated with Red Hood, Joker assumes the kid will be acting like your standard Batkid. He does not understand he's dealing with a Brock.

The plot never came to be for multiple reasons, which is a shame. I was really looking forward to playing out the aftermath; Dylan's been listening to Jason Todd's views on how bad people should die. Dylan unfortunately had been internalizing that in the worst way possible, and in the aftermath of this plot, would think "Ah. Knowing what I willingly did while bonded to Joker, clearly I am also Bad People, I should probably die too."

And once THAT came to light, Jason would have to reckon with what effect his ideology had on Dylan.

It's been an age since this happened but I just want to say-- DreamWidth is probably going to forever be my favorite website until the end of time. The owners and moderators of that site adopted tens of thousands of rpers and rp blogs in the period of less than a week, and in response:

-Coordinated with the largest of those communities to help import their entire archives from LiveJournal so that none of that information was lost and was retained as closely to the original content as possible -Bought entirely new servers to ensure that the website wouldn't collapse and people could enjoy the site the way they wanted to -Endeavoured to ensure that the site would remain accommodating to this niche of fandom for years

In terms of how important DW is? It's ao3 levels of important. It had such an insane cultural impact regardless of being on a smaller scale and despite not being part of the dwrp sphere anymore, my love for DW is undying. Eternal. I'm actively considering going and buying premium on a few of my accounts solely to continue supporting them for no reason other than continuing to support them.

I played Dylan against a Nico in a pan-fandom superhero-themed RP, and Nico's reaction to basically every single superhero trope was "WHY ARE YOU PEOPLE LIKE THIS?"

Crossover RP-based art. Yami Marik VS Shootie (Trip.)

The prompt was a character would have to divulge their fears... and Yami Marik finds it fun to take advantage of others' fears.

Trip and his Pokemon did put up a good fight and Trip very likely would have won up against a mortal, but... Trip also kept hesitating to just burn the spirit because he's friendly with a Marik and wasn't 100% clear on whether doing so would harm his friend/trainer of a nice Ghost type he's friendly with.

(Since the Marik he knew went to a Pokemon-themed game and has his own Pokemon team + his Yamask, Chenzira, also came to the same RP I played Trip in, Faraway Place... if you want a palate cleanser, have Trip and Chenzira being cute in their first meeting and during a festival.)
