Quoting Callum’s Facebook post here -
RIGHT OF REPLY - STATION MASTER, QSO DIRECTOR & DX COMMANDER
We have been alerted to a post published on the Station Master Pro Facebook page by Stuart Green which has been widely interpreted as referring to QSO Director, James and Callum. We have spoken to a number of those commenting on the post, and they have all confirmed that this was their understanding. We therefore believe it is important that the facts are placed firmly on record.
Firstly, Callum supported Stuart and the launch of Station Master and helped promote his software when it was first released. The video Callum premiered on his YouTube channel introducing Station Master resulted in a large number of new subscribers for Stuart's project. That video has now been viewed more than 32,000 times. Callum has since shown exactly the same support to James and QSO Director. Supporting innovation within the amateur radio community is something Callum has always done and will continue to do.
The suggestion that QSO Director is somehow the product of AI coding is simply false. Stuart's statement that "AI coding has given the morons the keys to the coding castle" is also unsubstantiated. Stuart has previously confirmed to Callum, in private messages, that he has himself used AI as part of his own software development process. By contrast, James is a highly experienced professional software developer who has previously built and sold a successful software company. He possesses the skills and experience to design and develop QSO Director from first principles without relying on AI generated code.
Recently, Stuart initiated contact with James and sought his assistance with incorporating Acom Director into Station Master. James was happy to provide that assistance in good faith. Stuart subsequently blocked James from his pages and forums and refunded his Station Master subscription without explanation. Stuart also chose to leave Callum's YouTube WhatsApp group and no longer accepts Callum's telephone calls, despite Callum making genuine attempts to resolve matters privately.
The effect of Stuart's post has been to encourage comments that question the integrity of James and Callum. We reject those implications entirely. Stuart claims in his post that "I'm not looking to create any kind of divide in the community", yet that is precisely the effect his post has had. Competition is healthy. Innovation is healthy. What is not healthy is making public insinuations that damage the reputations of fellow amateurs while refusing to identify them or substantiate the allegations.
If Stuart believes that QSO Director has copied Station Master, or that James or Callum have acted dishonestly, then we invite him to state those allegations clearly and provide the evidence to support them. If he cannot do so, he should withdraw the insinuations and correct the impression that has been created.
We will not engage in online arguments. This statement has been made solely to ensure that facts are available alongside speculation.
