Cheap Cool Trick connecting Elements to Paracord and Shock Cord
Cheap Cool Trick connecting Elements to Paracord and Shock Cord
I discovered this trick this week when I ran out of plastic carabiner clips in the field.. I tied a double overhand knot instead and connected the shock cord to it. Hell, it worked GREAT! I now prefer this method. See what you think.. Callum M0MCX. DX Commander.

Callum’s Friday Ham Radio Live – 10:45 UTC
Hi friends.. I *MIGHT* be restricted 100% to 80m on Friday because I might take down the Signature early tomorrow morning for some R&D.. I have a rather amazing idea that will please you.. If I do, I’ll be on the VERY low dipole at about 8 feet above ground. See you then. Callum.

RSGB Tonight@8 - The Russian Woodpecker over the horizon radar by Keith Snyder, KI6BDR
RSGB Tonight@8 – The Russian Woodpecker over the horizon radar by Keith Snyder, KI6BDR
Hidden deep in a serene forest yet taller than the clouds, standing in surreal beauty is an antenna array like none other on earth, having an aperture area greater than 15 U.S. football fields. One of the great wonders of the world – a top secret Soviet radar, so secret that even the name is uncertain, for it had many. It was the Russian Woodpecker. It was the Steel Yard. It was Duga. The story…

I Made a Short 80m Dipole - Linear Loading
I Made a Short 80m Dipole – Linear Loading
Dipole legs are normally just under 25% for each dipole leg (depends on height above ground) but you can shorten this to between 16-18% by loading it up in a linear fashion. Tom (M0RMY) and I made one. Let’s show you how we got on. Callum, M0MCX. DX Commander #dipole #80m #linearloading

I had to Guy the 12.4m Mast because of the Storm!
So we guyed the 12.4m mast. I used three lines of USA made 550 Paracord to hold the mast straight at the mid point. The top waggles around nicely in the wind! Callum. 😃

I’ll be back again soon to talk practicing transmitting Morse Code Recommended approach: – Follow the Koch method – Set character speed to 15-20 words per minute – Set Farnsworth…

Ham Radio: 40 Metre Dipole - Which Height?
Ham Radio: 40 Metre Dipole – Which Height?
40m is a fun band, but if we have a dipole for 40m or any other centre fed horizontal antenna, just how critical is that extra 2 or 3 metres in height in terms of changing the characteristics of the antenna? Connect with my channel by subscribing and commenting.

Im looking for DX on 40m and 80m
Testing the Signature 12.4 before I take it down tomorrow for some radical changes. Although we might try 20m band, I’m ideally looking for some East Coast action on 40m and 80m. Get those amplifiers up and running! Callum.

Ham Radio Antenna: 40 Metres Through 10 Metres In a Small Space
My previous Linear Loaded shortened dipole for 40 metres works well but is mono-band for 40 only. Why not try this idea? A short doublet for 40m and above. Connect with my channel by subscribing and commenting.
