So the Dylusions collection from Ranger Inks went on clearance this week, and at first I wasn’t sure why.
I mean, it’s exactly what I wanted as a teenager: fun, colorful journals, washi tape, stickers, stamps, and stencils with just the right amount of snark.
Yet there’s a TON of it in the clearance section at my local JoAnn, implying that it didn’t sell very well at all.
And then it hit me: The reason why teenage me would have loved this stuff is because its style is distinctly Late 90s Art Student. So I guess it’s just old enough that it’s not in style anymore, but it’s not quite old enough yet to be retro?
Anyway, if you’re into that style, the above photo uses stamps from the Puppy Dog Tails and Anatomy Of A Page sets, which are now about $3 each (a whole sheet of clear stamps for $3!) and totally worth the price. Look at those doggos. They are good boys. (Or maybe some of them are girls. Idk.)
Anyway, grab this shit now while it’s dirt cheap. It’s good quality stuff; it’s just not the current trend. And who doesn’t like stuffed puppies? NOBODY, that’s who.
