First, let me tell you about these characters. They are known as “Hybrids”. They are basically like humans but can shape-shift into half human half animal creatures. They live among normal human society and function almost completely as normal humans so they are almost seen as myths to society. Ok, with that out of the way, Let me introduce you to the first character; Ina! She’s different from the others because she actually didn’t know she was a hybrid until after she joined the school. But she is a Human/Wolf hybrid. She’s very accepting of new things but didn’t have many friends growing up. She has an adoptive sister who is human. She also has a scarf that’s very special to her but she doesn’t remember where it came from. Overall Ina is a very kind hearted and accepting character who has a lot of mystery to her that she can’t even quite explain.

So an old, favorite thread of mine on Gaia seems to have finally gone dormant. Do You Believe In Mods was meant to mock a persistence of “do you believe in god” threads in 2004, back when satire was allowed in Extended Discussion. It took on a life of its own, with unique characters and plotlines controlled by the thread’s regular posters, including a religion built around the worship of the site’s moderators (who, it was eventually decided, would eat pizza in the church’s rafters). It was nonsense from start to finish, but it brought about years of hilarity, friendship, support, and even love.

As of today, the last post in DYBIM is my own, from Nov5, simply saying “I miss y’all”

I’ve been lucky enough to reconnect with several of my Modist friends recently, including giving some of them my real name to stay connected on Facebook, but with DYBIM itself going silent, I feel like an era has come to an end.

It’s been a helluva trip, folks.
