I’m nearly finished ferrying wool and alpaca and mohair all over the place to have it miled into gorgeous 2018 yarns from our small farm! From harvest to finished product, a lot of love and care goes into our beautiful fiber and I count myself as so fortunate to be able to deliver and greet my local mills in person. Yesterday I unloaded a truck full of Shetland, Merino, Alpaca & Cormo at @greenmtnspinnery and got to get in a good hug and catch up with @larisa_demos . We’re both #dyedinthewool #woollovers!!!!! Oh my gosh! You’d think neither of us had ever seen raw fleeces! “Oh! Look at this crimp!” “Oh! This one! SO greasy!!!” “Oh! That SMELL!” “Oh! Check out Malcolm’s...!” “Oh my gosh THIS one!!” “Oh! That color!” .... I’m so grateful to my mill owners and workers here in New England that welcome me and my farm fiber with welcome arms and then magic it up into gorgeous finished roving and yarns. It all adds up to an extremely local product which helps our local economy, keeps our countryside healthy and sustainably grazed, contributes to regenerative agriculture, reduces carbon footprint and makes for weatherproof, warm and beautiful textiles. Plus, I sure do love my flocks!!!♥️🐑♥️ (at Green Mountain Spinnery)
