Dying Slave by Coralie Mercier (Detail) Dying Slave, marble sculpture by Michelangelo, on permanent display at Le Louvre. If you ask me, this doesn't look like someone dying. Or rather, it would be 'the little death'. Created between 1513 and 1516, it was to serve with another figure, the Rebellious Slave, at the tomb of Pope Julius II (but didn't).
