when & where: day thirty-nine / early afternoon, post date / terrace
It doesn’t take long for Dylan to pull Adela for a chat after she’s back from her date. The silence wasn’t meant to go on till now, and while Dylan’s someone who needs his time to process things so he doesn’t act on his emotions, he’s also not someone who likes to leave things hanging like that. That’s not saying he’s cooled off entirely, not when his ego had received the biggest hit yet and it has him somewhat doubting the confidence he has in their relationship, but he believes he’s more ready to have a conversation with her where he’s being more receptive, instead of being on the defensive. The worst part of it might as well be that despite everything, he misses her. It’s weird waking up and not fooling around in bed like they always do, not having breakfast together. It had been a conscious effort stopping himself from letting his eyes look for her from where he was sitting. He’s not sure where the conversation’s going to go. All he knows is there’s a whirlwind of conflicting thoughts swimming through his head and he doesn’t want it to simmer, doesn’t want to go down a path where he’s overthinking things on his own and shutting her out and pushing her away when this is a two person thing. “—How did your date go?” His eyes darken a little, signaling a hint of jealousy. It hasn’t been a good morning, and the date feels like some sick fuck you joke from the producers. He was thinking that if that date had come under completely different circumstances, Dylan would be laughing it off and making jokes with her about it. Instead, he’s low key waiting for other shoe will drop. || @bluemmings
