BATGOWAN - Mock Cover - "Group Selfie"

I had the idea for a group pic between BatGowan, DrumWing, BassWing, and Artistic Robin pop in my brain after seeing a meme on Spider-Man, where he submits a selfie to the newspaper.

Worked on this piece on and off for the past month or so, going back and forth between this and the SuperStyx League poster that I posted the other day.

"DRUMWING: The Night's Rhythm Conductor"

A new music superhero based loosely on Nightwing as a(nother) sidekick for BatGowan, as I felt I needed to expand that universe a bit. (Like how there was the Justice League as well as seperate Batman adventures, so this is a branch off the SuperStyx League lore if you will...)

I created this with permission from both Dylan Gowan and Lawrence Gowan (and their respective inputs in some of the design, like the main motif being based around the colour scheme of the Anaheim Ducks)

Done in SketchBook in about 8 hours total.

ADMIN SAW GOWAN LIVE FOR THEIR FIRST TIME - MORE AT 11

I had an absolute blast this past Saturday at the Gowan show in Winnipeg!

I'm gonna be descriptive from here on so it'll be stuck under read more tl;dr: details. And this is part 2 of 2 for pics so see previous post for more!

I met some like-minded folks who also wore a version of his Strange Animal outfit, plus quite a few from the LG Facebook community!

When he started playing (You're A) Strange Animal(3rd last song of the night), I instantly went down to the pit and he saw me right away, later complimenting on my outfit mouthing "that's fantastic!" during his guitar solo.

Then during A Criminal Mind, he sang the first chorus or so staring pretty much right at me so I got *chills.*

No backstage meet-up this time(because covid), but he did text me after complimenting my outfit and how he was watching for me the whole time...!(if I knew that I would've jumped down to the pit right away lol)

And as a bonus, I got a blurry animated pic with his brother Terry, and my friend got Dylan's drumsticks!

if you didn’t believe that I’m autistic I just saw Gowan for the fourth time, noticed that the drum kit onstage was smaller than Todd’s usual Beast™️ of a kit, and immediately figured out that Dylan would be playing with his dad instead of Todd

Been poking at the idea of adding Gowan's son into the SuperStyx League Universe as a sort of Nightwing/another Batman-esque sidekick.

Although, initially, I toyed with his son taking on the Robin role, but then I thought by me passing the torch - so to speak - would be too much of a change for a lot of people, since the idea of me being Artistic Robin had been around pretty much since the beginning of my SuperStyx League concepts(with me being nominated by Gowan himself to be "his Artistic Robin" after the conception of BatGowan) about 5 years ago now.

Gonna try to conceptualize something in the coming days, and if Gowan approves or comes up with something else entirely, I'll share it with y'all.
