In process of King Manwe! Manage to save a few in progress shots. I painted this last year, July 2016. Doing an end of the year review of my the Valar paintings inspired by J.R.R Tolkien’s, The Silmarillion ! To start this off I’m sharing King Manwe and the behind the scenes work on him. I’ve begun to realize I don’t post enough. He was a bit of a breaking point piece in early 2016. I put in 90 hours into this piece. Which is a lot for me. . I started it in January 2016 faded off, stopped and picked it back up in the summer. Finishing it in July 2016. That year I was struggling. The game company I was working at went under and we all got laid off. But as these stories go, it was a blessing in disguise and gave me time to work on this piece
