Martin "Spider" Locke - Murder Drones OC and my dronesona :D
Finally got myself a dronesona! (art made by the wonderful mohzaets, check her out btw, does great work https://mohzaets.straw.page/ )
General Description
"Martin Locke", real name unknown, sometimes nicknamed "Spider", is a male Worker Drone that has been upgraded, upon his behest, with Disassembly Drone parts on top of experimental/specialty JCJ components he had found. Just like the rumors state, Martin is an ex-human, a past experiment subject for JCJ that the company purchased from a prison while he was incarcerated over a widespread anti-governmental and anti-fascist revolt in Poland, several years before the Absolute Solver's destruction of Earth. His system is in English and, just like all JCJ drones, does not feature a polish language pack, but he retains all of his memories, and his memory is far better than in life. Thustly, he still speaks Polish, retains a polish accent and occasionally uses phrases from his mother tongue even though none around him may understand. One quirk associated with JCJ's human to drone experiments is the presence of five-fingered hands on all subjects of the experiments, Martin included. Martin is heteroromantic, and used to be heterosexual until that was no longer applicable (drones have no genitals, obvs).
As a Drone Martin started as a marginally different Worker Drone, moving onto an artificial Hybrid Drone (the 'hybrid' indicates he wasn't a result of a WD and a DD having a child, and also does not posses DD regeneration or a tail) with special components. In an AU where the Solver exists and is beaten by Uzi or some other drone, the new Solver Host becomes his admin and implants the need for oil and regeneration the solver can provide into him. In settings where the Solver doesn't exist, he eventually manages to acquire functional regeneration components from a Disassembler and implanted those within himself. If an AU has drone Tessa, he will seek her out and offer help with processing being turned into a drone.
Martin is a WD aligned individual, helping his colony by utilizing his specializations: exploration, scavenging, security, and threat mitigation. He is not afraid on taking on a Disassembly Drone, but will not do so outside of closed spaces and without the element of surprise, he is aware of the difference between bravery and idiocy. An important fact to note is that, as long as any other colonies exists, he does not live or work for Outpost 3 directly. He will however provide assistance if passing by, if tasked by his colony to aid Outpost 3, or at his Admin's behest.
Back on Earth, before the events which eventually turned him into a drone, Martin was extremely resentful of the general populace at large for mistreating the drones, seeing clearly the fact that they were essentially artificially made people of metal and polymer, sentient beings with their own thoughts, dreams and desires. At some point, he rescued a male worker drone from a junkyard. After repairing the drone, which took a good while as Martin wasn't too well versed in drone repair, he offered the drone a deal. The worker would be provided shelter, drone consumables such as batteries, access to books, games, and other hobby-related items, as well as clothing and the freedom to do what the he wanted in his spare time, within reason. In exchange, the worker was to deal with a chore Martin especially disliked, that being dealing with laundry. Provided the drone didn't damage or steal anything that belonged to the human, respected the man's boundaries, and didn't do anything that could land Martin in legal trouble, the worker had free reign. Eventually the two formed a very deep platonic bond, one supporting the other whenever needed, as their abilities allowed. The worker also chose a name that drew inspiration from one of Martin's favorite books, and named himself "Clive Armitage". After the revolt however, Martin hasn't seen or heard anything from Cli, presuming him to be dead.
To this day, Martin regrets not even being able to say goodbye to his buddy. He also cannot help but wonder, on the more lonely nights, what happened to the guy. After getting married these nights appear far less often, but when they do, Martin's wife is there to help him calm down.
In the interim between breaking out of confinement during a widespread facility failure about five years before the partial core collapse, and acquiring his first batch of modifications that being the sensor upgrades and limbs though not the secondary set of arms, he was busy hunting down local J.C.J. senior staff responsible for the unethical experiments and executing them. Some time after he was pretty much done with this mission of his, as well as after the upgrades, he ventured into the facility where his human form had been taken away from him. There were only two things of note he found—his orange and black shemagh, and his own corpse in nearly perfect condition as it laid within a morgue locker. That day he buried himself fairly near the facility, after retrieving two molars from the corpse, and took on his new, current name. Said teeth had been placed securely within his new body, in a hidden and usually inaccessible compartment within his upper torso.
After joining up a colony he quickly befriended a generally outcast manic hardware specialist, one Anya Cortez. The two became great friends and a duo that busies themselves with managing threats outside of their colony, retrieval operations, securing and scoping out possibly viable scavenging spots and the like. In this team-up, Martin is the ground operative.

Personality
Martin is a melancholic and depressive type by nature. His transition into the mechanical has given him a reprieve, knocking down his anxiety and depressive disorders considerably in severity. He was never good at social things, and doesn't like meeting new people of whom he is very weary. He is stubborn, emotionally unstable, somewhat off his rocker, plain weird, hard to anger and to calm back down. However, if one gets on his good side, Martin is an incredibly loyal and physically affectionate individual, his love language being physical contact and other such gestures. Eternally early to mid twenties, mind wise.

If Martin had a theme for fights where there isn't a massive power imbalance, it'd be the Theme of KHS from Kurohyou 2
Notable friends/other
Anya “Reaper” Cortez - a good friend, as well as a teammate. “Spider” and “Reaper” operate in tandem, with “Spider” being the ground operative while “Reaper” provides intel, overwatch, etc
Tessa James Eliott (if she's a drone in the AU Martin's placed into) - a good friend, both understand how it is to no longer be human, Martin assists as much as possible with getting used to the new form, since he's been dealing with it much longer, and he isn't willing to let her struggle with it alone like he had to. He also donates a pair of his five-fingered hands to her after getting a solver string from Uzi, figuring it'd help her a little bit since it would bring her a little bit closer to what she used to be.
Nice OCs mate, very dapper! I'm curious, do you think that S could be friends with my main OC, Martin? He's not unreasonable when it comes to DDs, in case that wasn't clear.
Thank you! I think the same about Martin! :)
S should have an easy time warming up to him considering he’s more on the non-violent side. Though she may be slightly intimidated by his appearance at first. Maybe an offering of free oil will get her to trust him? I think Martin would really want to help S with her problems too :)
I read that he’s affectionate, and boy does S need that…
