ok first of all just because ur into this 70+ year old mans completely unrealistic romantic relationship with a teenager doesnt mean the rest of us have to be so jot that down
secondly, a father/daughter relationship would have been way more devastating because one of the major reveals in the season was that aku was ashis father. how much more powerful would the moment of ashi saying “you’re not my father!” to aku have been if she was saying it because she saw JACK as her father instead. and it would have made it that much sadder when she and jack killed aku, bc ashi would be essentially sacrificing herself for her father figure, which is something that any parent would be utterly destroyed by.
thirdly, the way the show presents their dynamic now, its literally just born sexy yesterday with the lost lenore trope thrown in and a ttgl reference for shits and giggles. that is so boring. father/daughter would have been way more interesting and unexpected for a sci-fi show, since most of them feature forced romantic relationships (like this one). they never had any romantic chemistry until episode 7 where it was awkwardly forced on the audience and it made no sense.
