He has dyslexia! In his English and Norwegian he often misspells words and writes some letters backwards, even though he is a great verbal storyteller (I’ll talk about that later someday) he struggles to write them on paper.

Also the reason his English is much worse then the rest of his family/other Norwegians in general is back in Norway he thought English was bullshit and he purposely goofed off and failed all the attempts to teach him English, he even tried to learn some German one year to stop learning English because he hated it so much. He thought “we live in Norway why tf would I ever need english” and then well… he had to move to the US 😔

Sidenote he is also very good at math in America lol, back in Norway he was decently good at math but he got put into some the advanced classes in Alabama lol

I love how when Vaughn and Lucas swapped bodies, the first thing Vaughn did was absolutely tear through all of Lucas's books cause he could finally read properly and this is how we learn he has dyslexia.

literally every middle-grade book about dyslexia is always like “hi i’m a 12-year-old girl with anger issues and have no clue how to read or write but somehow i’m making decent grades. I live with my struggling single mom and older sibling. oop, new school year and we have a new english teacher who believes in me so by the end of the book i’ll be a fully functioning member of society”
