A scene of my AEW wrestler designs, Dythalla and Bella Belle respectively, posing between fights. Since the real-life wrestlers all have factions already, I’m thinking of changing these two being rivals and making them be teammates instead. So, Dythalla would be a Face with Bella instead of a Heel.
I modified Dythalla’s costume to be more detailed compared to the previous art. The sparkles are still harder to see than I would like, but the scales are better and there’s nicer lacing along the pieces now. I based this scene off of a picture of one of the actual matches, although I changed the poses a little bit. The colors are bright in spite of the black background because they were in the original image, since the ring has bright spotlights. I probably could have done more shading on the ring cords but otherwise I think this came out looking nice.
This is an interpretation of my friend @iamthekaijuking ‘s character Dythalla! I’ve been working on this over the week and it was fun to branch out from my style. I also made a video of the process, so check that out too if you’re interested. https://youtu.be/aFIlWgxKopM
After Revolution last Sunday, I’ve been excitedly working on this piece all week. This has my OCs I already showed you for AEW, Dythalla and Bella Belle, plus the other two members of their faction, Psyche and Eliminator X, aka “Ellie.” Their faction is called the Timestream Sisters, because their story is that Dythalla pulled them from different time periods to be her pals in Eldritch solidarity. They’re super loyal, no backstabbing or dirty tricks here, only besties getting pizza and hamming it up on stage. Here they’re goofing around outside one of the arenas, trying to get a reaction out of Ellie. More information under the cut.
I already described Dythalla and Bella Belle, so here’s a quick summary. Dythalla is the one in green, and is the host for an Eldritch Old One who got bored and wanted to hang out and wrestle. Bella Belle (far right) is a scoundrel from the 50s who Dythalla befriended and pulled into the present day. Dythalla’s theme is A Demon’s Fate by Temptations and Bella Belle’s theme is Bella Belle by Electric Swing Circus.
Psyche (far left) is a punk from the 80s, all pastel goth, all hyperactive crazy. She loves sugar and dancing, although her dancing is much less graceful than Belle’s swing dancing. Where Belle does acrobatic flips and twists, and Dythalla stands her ground and throws other people’s weight, Psyche gets in their face with quick punches and dagger-sharp kicks. Her theme is Circus for a Psycho by Skillet.
Eliminator X (circuit suit in the middle) aka “Ellie” is an android from the future who Dythalla bestowed sentience upon. She’s still learning emotions and desires, and doesn’t react much. She does more balanced skills--elbow drops, neck strikes, drop kicks, and the like. More sturdy than Belle but more acrobatic than Dythalla, and more slow and steady than Psyche. Her theme is Electroflail by Slyphstorm.
“Your deepest and darkest fears come to life in the parallel realm of, ERI. Crawling from the depths below comes a horror unlike any other. Dythalla are the new conquerors of the Texan wasteland they reign from. Delivering this 4-track pulverizer to your doorstep, you will not be disappointed. Including one of the most revered and well-known vocalists in this genre as their feature. The Brute of Battle: Dickie Allen.”
This band is sick as fuck and bring the genre as close as it gets to real horror. Check ‘em.
