Scavenging — Without Light AU
E-16 made her way through the underbrush, the hunter's cloak she'd taken from shattered lightbearer riddled with grasses, transforming it into a makeshift Ghillie suit. She didn't have enough fabric to make a whole suit, but the hood and cape things a little easier. The helmet helped too, hiding the distinct glow of her eyes as she shuffled through the foliage. It had been a long time, longer than she wanted to admit, since she ventured out. As someone who didn't need to really eat, she only really went out to find supplies and maybe someone who wasn't being subjected to the iron warlords in the area.
At the moment, she needed metal and someone who could smelt it into a proper shape for her bunker. Unfortunately, smelting and metalworks weren't her area of study and after the Collapse, it became impossible to learn anything without going out and experiencing it for herself. —a dangerous proposition considering the times they now lived in. But she needed that metal, and if she had to rip it off one of the rotting, rusting cars littering the crumbling cities, she would do it. She just... had to be careful about it.
Hearing motion a little ways off, E-17 stopped and dropped into a bush, tucking herself under the grass-covered cloak. If she was lucky whoever it was would pass right by her. If not... well, she was fast right? Faster than before she became an exo, right? Did she even remember her life before she was an exo?
She shook the thought away and crouched lower, eyes wide behind her visor as she waited for the noise to pass.
