E-flat Infatuation
I wish I could play E-flat professionally
Playing the eb clarinet successfully is my life long goal tbh
An amazing work for E-flat clarinet, electronics, and video by Alican Camci. Reach out to [email protected]
Dad-fetch it, I really, REALLY miss playing the Eb clarinet. Despite what others say, I love that thing to death. So much that I'm thinking about getting one for myself. Any suggestions for a good, not-so-expensive instrument and equipment?
Hello!
The e-flat clarinet is a great instrument to play no matter what others say! It can open many ensemble spots because not too many people can play it well!!
Anyways, While we all dream of the beautiful $8,000 Buffet Tosca e-flat there are a few options that are more affordable. I went searching around to see what is out there price-wise for a decent e-flat. You can get a Buffet E11 e-flat for about $1,850 on wwbw.com. There are cheaper brands but I don’t know if they will play as well as Buffet, Selmer, Yamaha or Patricola. I would say your best bet is to try and find a used one from a trusted seller (so they won’t sell you one that is too old or has any cracks). Check out your local music stores, they might have so used ones or see if anyone in your area (teachers etc.) are selling theirs.
For equipment, check out ligatures and mouthpieces from Vandoren, Bonade or Leblanc. They have a lot of options and I would recommend trying them out first so you can see what works the best for you!
Best of luck,
Cat
Trying to carry around a B-flat, A, E-flat, and bass clarinet for orchestra
I played my e-flat clarinet for the first time in over a month and I pulled out several millimeters to tune before I even played a note
*plays an open G*
"so THAT'S what I have to do to be in tune"
and I love this instrument but I'm 999999% done
