Letterbox weeks 5-8

In weeks 5-6, we redoubled efforts to get evidence that people would use online to get to know their neighbours. 

We did an online survey and got over 100 responses.  3 in 5 people want to know their neighbours better. A third would use online to do this (thank you, our early adopters!) Another half would consider it depending what the offer was.

We experimented with facebook groups to get evidence of people connecting.  Which messages would encourage people to sign up? What would they do once they joined? What could we find out from the profiles of people signed up to the group?  Answers: 15% joined a new facebook group with very little prompting. Yes! They connected and started a walking group. But many people are not updating their facebook with anything relevant to planning public services.

So we plough ahead with our pilot planning in weeks 7-8, with very little change to our original idea.  I wonder how we got to week 8 without starting our real experiment – the one we proposed to the accelerator in January…  so it’s time to put our money where our mouth is and let the games begin!
