PIC(S) INFO: Spotlight on an original issue EC [Educational Comics] FAN-ADDICT CLUB -- MAD MEMBER" stitched fabric patch, measuring three inches in diameter, from a 1953 kit for readers sponsored by EC Comics (Educational Comics).
EXTRA INFO: Other original club kit items were: membership certificate, ID card, bronze pin, all offered for 25¢ to EC Comics (publishers of MAD Magazine) readers.
PIC #2: Legendary American fantasy painter/illustrator, Frank Frazetta (1928-2010), wearing an EC Comics "Fan-Addict Club Mad Member" embroidered patch in 1953.

It’s that way-too-hot time of year again, so I’ll post a few vintage comic book swimsuits. That won’t help with the heat, but I’ll do it anyway.
It’s kind of hard to believe now, but that swimsuit- AND this comic- really were considered “almost obscene” by certain people at the time.
