Night at the Museum! On Wednesday night of Airventure, there was a line of severe storms that came through. Tornado warnings, tornado touchdown a few miles south of the airport. One inch hail projected. Kudos to EAA for offering up the museum to anybody who wanted to shelter the night there to ride out the storm. I decided this time that it was a prudent idea. Lot’s of plane and tent campers. If the storm has half as bad as predicted, there would still be half inch hail. I’m glad the Oshkosh split is real. I was at the museum until about 1 or 2 am.
Better to be on the ground wishing you were in the air, than in the air, wishing you were on the ground.

Night Sabre by Niall Grant Via Flickr: A number of the exhibits from the EAA museum were put on display at Boeing Plaza at the beginning of the week. Thankfully, this Sabre was nicely positioned for a night shot.
MiG-15 by Niall Grant Via Flickr: EAA museum's lovely MiG-15 under the lights at AirVenture 2025. While painted to represent a Soviet AF example, this Fagot is actually a former PLAAF machine, imported to the USA in 1987.
