Right? He so no nonsense, which is honestly refreshing compared to the other sith we meet. Like ‘Thanaton this is YOUR problem, so be a big boy and take care of it yourself’. And he’s just straight up respectful after the inquisitor wins. Some of the other darths are ready to either kill you or drop kick you out of the room, but he actively stands up for you and explains your new position.

I just love him so much. I’ll miss him.

I love that he is deadly efficient when dealing with professionals (bounty hunters, stormtroopers) but clumsy when dealing with "unconventional" targets (jawas, mudhorn). I guess it also shows that his covert has good man-to-man combat training but not so much of those old mandalorian hunting tradition because they have to keep a low profile?

Yesss!! I think I wrote a rambling meta at some point about how cool it is that his professional experience is so clearly but wordlessly shown to us -- as you say he’s very good at dealing with taking down people (even non-lethally when needed, which is even more impressive considering he can’t use his most powerful weapon in that case b/c it’d vaporize the target lol), but he’s not at all practiced with dealing with animals or predicting how they think. (I think the jawa are a bit unfair because they did have a giant rolling fortress at their disposal and he had a blaster, a baby and a dream haha)

and then he of course very, very knows how to handle droids. For reasons that make me go ;__________;

That’s possible. I am definitely getting the impression that Marvel sees Cates as their rock star (in both the positive and negative senses of the term). I saw more than one booth that marked Cates’ name specifically on the sticky notes they placed on the comic issue covers with the price. They did this with no other comics, which makes me think the industry as well as the publishers are aware he has a following of marks who’ll buy anything he slaps his name on regardless of content or quality. I suspect they’re more concerned with wringing money out of him short term and may even just dump anything he produces that’s too inconvenient once his marks find some new Faux-Nihilist Rockstar to attach themselves to. He’s basically their cash cow, and they’ll likely keep him strapped to the milking machine until his production drops, then grind him up (metaphorically of course) for hamburger and shunt him somewhere else or drop him with another publisher.

For some reason I always thought your icon is Starscream.

Its actually Terezi from Homestuck! But you’re right, the grey face/red eyes/red wings? That’s pretty Starscream. I actually think I had him as my avatar a few years back? I can’t remember.

Terezi has been my avatar since ... 2016 or 2017, so maybe it’s time for a change. Or maybe it’s iconic by now.

you mean “can humans and aliens have kids in star wars”? because it’s...complicated. and depends entirely on what source you’re looking at as well as the species. like the republic commando books said humans and twi’leks can’t have kids, but the kids in the deserter are supposed to have a human dad (if not actually cut’s kids)

and there’s a blurry line between “near human” as in actually related to humans and species which look humanish but are unrelated. plus some authors occasionally seem confused over what are species names and what are planet names for colonies of humans. basically it’s a mess. but unlike star trek, where seemingly anyone can have a kid with anyone, there do seem to be more limits
