While I’m at it with my childhood fave media, I’m gonna put out there I’ve had the position that Raven and Hunter should have a really, frankly very, weird friendship going on. Hunter being the son of Raven’s family huntsman, is clearly being raised to fill that role although to no avail, they would’ve been raised together in some capacity.
Being raised to know one would betray the other and become their downfall, and until then, as the story goes, one is under the complete and total control of the other.
Weirdly codependent, and maybe their friendship in their youth and learning of the other’s lack of want to follow their fate’s path, just further solidified their early stances.
A young Hunter and Raven trying to whisp away and avoid ‘lessons’ together, learning quickly that if it looked like Raven was bossing Hunter around and Hunter pretending to loyally obey, others left them alone.
Idk just the thought of them being mentally struggling kids together becoming each others buoy before they get to finally make connections outside of the other… like, what if because of the isolation they were each others first puppy love crushes? Raven would’ve had no one else simply bc of who she is, and Hunter’s fate being doing her future dirty work others around him would be hesitant as well.
Weirdly codependent, first not-love, first kiss, first secrets Raven and Hunter. Not really exes, can’t ever really be just friends, confidants, something so fragile and volatile they agree to not ever venture into those mental mind fields.
I know this would kinda have no basis in canon but let me live in my little rewrite world.
