Today's entry makes me genuinely afraid of the count. I know I'm still trying to keep it light and make fun and all but I realised how unsettling it might have been for Jonathan to see a woman getting straight up mauled by the wolves just after her child gets snatched.

Also, I love the parallel of Jonathan losing his identity and the woman losing her child to the count. After witnessing everything he witnessed and losing that one sense of identity, it's natural for him to believe that he would be better off dead much like he believes that the woman is better off dead than have to witness her child's suffering.

Stephen closes the door after Tony and immediately turns his head a little. “So? What do you think?”

The Cloak whips off Stephen’s shoulders to hover before him and gestures eloquently. Thanks to the bond between Stephen and the artifact, he has no trouble understanding: The feelings are definitely mutual.

Stephen can’t help but smile. “You really think so?”

Wong’s voice abruptly rings out from behind him: “Did you really ask the Cloak to determine if your crush likes you back?”

Stephen spins to face him. “Levi has centuries of experience with human body language!”

Wong shakes his head. “Hopeless.”

- But wow, Kizaru is tall. He’s patiently looming over Hawkins and waiting for him to finish

- “Chance of death – zero %” damn, that’s a true believer, Admiral is literary right there

- Now Kizaru says he can’t just let him go if he’s sitting in front of him

- “Basil Hawkins! Speed is weight! Have you ever been kicked with the speed of light?” I read it as “speed is life” which, Kizaru in modern AU drives Ferrari, no I don’t take criticism. And it looks like his is the power of SPEED
