Is this not the weirdest sh*t? "Sorry little Johnny but you suck at spelling and now that man is dead." Just limb by limb, his head in a noose, hanging in a gallows, the pressure building on poor little school children to choose wisely on the next letter. Not for cash and prizes like Wheel of Fortune, but so you don't hang a man to his death. . Was he innocent? Was he guilty? What did he do? Why did he have to hang for little Johnny's terribly phonics skills? And we did this at SCHOOL. And I was only today years old when I saw this tweet and thought about how weird this is, lol. . What else was weird about growing up in the 80s and 90s? Name some. Like... remember ashtrays in cars? Even in the doors, in the back? Today, we packed 300 backpacks today for children 2-18 who are here in NY unaccompanied or who have been separated from their families. The bags were packed with school and art supplies, and age appropriate reading materials in Spanish. Exciting Announcement is finally here!

Hey lovelies! 

Sooo... as some of you know, Live Literate has partnered with amazing organisation, The World Literacy Foundation. You know we’re a bit nuts about literacy over here, so we thought we’d put our money where our mouth is. 

From now on, 5% of our annual net profit will be donated to The World Literacy Foundation each year. Money isn’t all they need though, so we’re offering up our services and workshop spaces where we can, including editing the Social Media content for daughter organisation, Reading Out of Poverty, and donating workshop spaces as prizes for fundraising campaigns. 

Do you ever stop to think about how lucky we are, having words that need editing? Being able to read the tips and tricks we find all over tumblr? Communicating with our peers in written language? It’s pretty standard these days, with emails and facebook taking over, but not everyone can do it. 

A startling 1 in 5 people globally cannot read or write. Did you know that? I didn’t. 

We can all do our bit to improve the international literacy levels, and donating to The World Literacy Foundation is a great step to take, as they have projects aiding 80 countries.

Can’t donate? No worries. It’s not always doable. What you can do though, is reblog this post, and help us create awareness so that these awesome people get the assistance they need to do their thing.

🟠SoVerse Announcement - Upgrades!🟣 🦁🦁 🦁🦁 What’s going on #soversefam & #soversecrew?! Habitat four of the five SoVerse ECOSystems. SoveReign Mangaka. My first story where I got to learn full world and universe building was in High School. I pushed the envelope with that story. Did things that I didn’t see. I had fun! It was my first manga…even though it was in script form because my dream was to make it an anime. Now, it’s back…and it’s the reason for this habitat. I’ve been telling everyone that I’ve created many things but, I let feelings of others keep me from pushing the envelope like I used to, but now…the fire has been lit.
