In your earth 3-a au, how do the other members of HIVE feel about Red Bolt as it sounds they meet him more often-ish compared to main TT03 world?

Also I love your art and world + you pulled me into Flinx despite the fact I never watched the original show (which I have now). Thank you so much^^

okay so in regard to Earth-3a, a variant of Earth-3 and elseworld within my Teen Titans : Side-B AU, despite me drawing him more often, Red Bolt is actually somewhat of a wild card.

odds of the HIVE Heroes meeting him are a bit slim and thus not very often, because his turf is Keystone City, he only sticks around the Tyrants when Red Robin asks him for a favor and vice versa.

not only that, the Teen Tyrants are usually dealt with the Brotherhood of Justice and not the young HIVE Heroes because of how risky dealing with them is. so the very few times HIVE are sent out to stop Teen Tyrants, Red Bolt may be there too, not always, but maybe.

thing is even when they cross paths, he doesn't bother speaking or keeping eye contact with other HIVE members except Lady Luck. only she can take a closer look and knows the further scope of Red Bolt on a personal level, due to her goodness (naivety?), she promised to keep his secrets and their private encounters between the two of them.

her teammates are very much in the dark except from already recorded public data, like the fact that he's among the most dangerous bad guys (cue KF's "one of the best" line) who's around their age.

anyway, since you're a new Flinx liker + TT03 watcher, here's a little doodle for ya to illustrate the scenario above haha.

funny idea dumps.

i made the meme on the right like 2 years ago during my Earth-3 AU's conception, but the design was outdated, so i might as well redraw Red Bolt here lol.

but yeah, for new faces, the idea of Red Bolt was a mish-mash of Reverse Flash's look in DC/Sonic collab (thats where the black eyeshadow came from), the Goggles and bangs from other KF iterations (particularly YJ).

and a bit of Scourge. (i don't even read Archie at the time but the initial vibes are accidentally immaculate hahaha.)

the idea is he's supposed to be the pinnacle of bad boy-ism, the type of teens used to fangirl over back in the day when they're making copycats of Twilight, but cranked to 11 haha. he also has Kid Flash's bad stereotype on him. (stalker-ish, overtly cocky, and flirty, though in an unhinged way)

the Earth-3 in my AU (Earth-3a) is supposed to be this all dark and depressing but campy and edgy sludge. its a callback to that era where being edgy is this hip thing and i'm having fun with it to be frank haha.

oh as for Wally in my AU, theres a dash of influence from Nicky from the old Japanese Sonic manga haha albeit more the bare idea and his front bangs.

Nicky was Sonic's "Clark Kent" while Sonic is the "Superman", if that make sense. the concept is similar to that, but y'know, Kid Flash instead of Superman. Wally is a normal teenage guy, funny, has a couple of admirers, good at sports and science but generally doesn't stand out too much (especially unrecognizable when his hair isn't slicked back), Kid Flash is charismatic, quippy, and likes the attention.

here's bonus fun fact, how Wally-Kid Flash's face look in my TT:SB AU are actually based on the Brief gag from PSG season 1, where due to cartoon logic his freckles isn't visible for some reason. so thats why they're unseen when suited up even though the eyeholes have his cheeks visible hahahah.

by energy and vibes, my TT:SB AU Wally is Adrien from Ladybug, Nicky from Sonic and (only visually) Brief from PSG in one.

In the TT03 show, Flinx’s relationship has romantic undertones (later to be confirmed dating in the comics)

In Earth-3A, how is BoltLuck’s relationship portrayed? Is it mostly platonic or romantic? Maybe a secret third option?

so the Earth-3a universe is supposed to be a spoof or parody of 90s edgy era of comics.

the Flinx in this universe, aka BoltLuck, is suppose to parody fanon Flinx in some sense.

so, BoltLuck is : 1. tenseful enemies/rivals and lovers vibe that never goes away 2. always in the POV of Jinx (aka Lady Luck here) who's stern but somewhat meek. 3. Wally has little to no boundary. 4. he's a flirt (in a twisted, sinister way for Red Bolt) and a heartbreaker, with mysterious and dubious motive narratively 5. the hero begs for the villain to change sides, convinced to see something within them, with little to no avail 6. the hero would ignore criminal activities to let the villain get off scot-free. 7. the other good guys would warn the hero to stay away from the villain and that the villain shouldn't be trusted and/or too risky. 8. barriers between them are jail cells and heroic responsibility. 9. acquaintances with "benefits" 10. they bicker a lot and would throw insults at each other.

while with Flinx i'll try my best to make their relationship clear, direct, and developed deeper into something serious. BoltLuck i try to make them as inconveniently complicated as possible lol, like holding firmly a wet soap, like being lost in the woods looking for a way out and find yourself walking in circles all this time.

How come ur au is called earth-3a? :P

the topsy-turvy realm is directly referencing Earth-3 of DC multiverse, and because in the comics apparently this universe is gone/merged (as i've heard), "Earth-3a" is a copy of its original state with alteration (my take on it)

meanwhile, TT03 universe is commonly called "Earth-2003" based on the show's airing year, and since my AU takes place in said universe with my own take and branching narrative, its called "Earth-2003b" or i shorten it to "Earth-03b". the "0" separates it from the "evil" universe and the "b" is from my "Side-B" titling of the AU.

its kinda like naming alternative files in your computer, y'know? or endings in video games like Ending A, Ending B, so on.

so "Earth-03b" is the "main" universe of my AU where normal Flinx and Teen Titans is, "Earth-3a" is its mirror with Boltluck and Teen Tyrants.

thought its neat naming convention, 3A and 03B. both have 3s.

A question I thought of in regards to your Red Bolt/Teen Tyrants universe. What would Red Bolt's equivalent to Hunter Zolomon/Zoom be like since Zoom is Wally's equivalent to Thawne.

just like how Red Robin is still Dick in that topsy turvy universe, and Jesse Quick in TT03 universe was just some kid that absorbs Kid Flash's power temporarily, theres probably none.

because for simplicity sake, some characters just don't exist but in name only haha especially since Earth-3a i draw a lot of sometimes was just a spoof universe that would be brought up once in my own AU.

it genuinely exist just to parody the 90s's gritty and dark comic direction. (and to make Jinx realize in-universe that, Wally as a villain is way worse to deal with than as a hero with limitations and common morals)

I remember reading a Flinx fanfic that featured a character named Kid Zoom, who's just Wally's disfigured clone ala Bizarro, too bad it was left on a cliffhanger. if there is a Zoom, i'd probably pull off something like that.
