Also, Lionel using his jacket to wrap it around his irradiated son was just too perfect for me not to do it. Like I get it, he's a huge jerk. But I wanted to show how he used to love his son (in his own twisted way) (especially when he was an innocent and malleable kid). That man got dirt, blood and ash all over him, rummaging through the earth and burning meteorite pieces, until he found Lex in that field that day
