I assume many of you in Southern California stumbling on this blog have gone through Yogi Bear's Quaky-Shaky Vans as part of earthquake-preparedness instruction ...

(Joe Barbera, in fact, got inspiration for the concept when he was in Japan on business in the mid-1980's and noticed earthquake-simulator vans in wide use as part of emergency-preparedness training. In time, he was able to import several such into the United States and donated them to local emergency-preparedness agencies in Southern California, which uses such in elementary schools.)

本所防災館で震度７の地震の体験をしてきました。

この動画は実際体験しながら撮ったもの。

見てわかるように、

そんな余裕はありません。。。

でも、この短さで、この衝撃。

体験後、しばらく揺れてる感覚が残りました。

体験前にも

「手は絶対に床につかない」（ガラスが落ちててケガする危険があるから）

など、地震の際の心得などを説明してくれたり

ためになる体験でした。

起こらないこと、それが１番の願いですが、

知っておくこと、それもいざというときに重要なものになると思う。
