A powerful volume control app for Windows
Assistive technology in the German Empire FTW! I forgot to jot down the Prussian in the #wheelchair with the #eartrumpet, but you can find him, among other things, in @thestoryofberlin. #museum #assistivetechnology #pwd #peoplewithdisabilities

It took a few hours but Indâd has finally been returned to his room. He watched the horizon for a long while, talking aloud to himself in a low voice. Dwalin went to inform the others that Indâd had been found and in the quiet, I could faintly make out what Indâd was saying. It sounded like plans towards reinforcing Erebor's defenses. My heart sank a bit at that, that he was paranoid once again of enemies lurking around each corner. Then Indâd had rocked on his feet, as if something had thrown him off, and he gave a shout. I asked what was wrong and he looked to me with wide eyes, demanding to know if I had also felt the ground shake. I hadn't felt a thing, the ground steady beneath my feet, but Indâd was scanning the horizon for answers, as if waiting for something to appear. I tried to assure him for a time that there had been no shaking, that the mountain was at peace but he seemed convinced that things were falling apart. Indâd began to calm eventually and Dwalin returned, but I could still see a panic in his expression. We were able to return him to his room when he quite suddenly collapsed. Óin assures that it was from exhaustion and has seen to Indâd. He's had Dwalin stay with him, to watch over Indâd and also make sure that he doesn't sneak out of his room once again.
I was just woken by Balin at the door. He says that Óin woke to find that Indâd has left his room without anyone noticing, most likely using the passageway through to Mr Baggins’ room. They haven’t been able to locate him yet and were worried about where he might be, given his current state.
I’ve agreed to help look for him and have joined Dwalin in the search.
I received a letter from Amad several days ago, but with what's happening with Indâd, I haven't stopped to read it until now. She and the Dwarves that she's leading have left Beorn's Halls and are continuing towards Erebor. Because there is such a number of them, they must go around Mirkwood, instead of through it. Amad says that she is eager to see us again and is tempted to cut through the forest anyway. She also mentions that she met a certain friend of ours at Beorn's and that they had talked for some time. Amad said that Mr Baggins hadn't quite looked like the other Hobbits that she'd seen when she had passed the Shire before. He was thinner, his skin having taken on a grey tone. But what was most different was that there was a fire in his eyes. It was buried deep and burning low but she saw it there; a fierceness and courage that she had immediately liked. Amad teased that, while he was obviously not at his best, she could see why Indâd had been so taken with him and how much their separation was affecting Mr Baggins. Kee and I decided together to bring the letter to Indâd. He was awake when we were let in, though Óin was trying to change that and get him to rest. Kee gave the letter to Indâd and wished him well, before they quickly left. I stayed for several minutes, talking with Óin about anything that he needed to be brought up. When I left, Indâd was silently reading the letter, his expression carefully neutral, though his hands were tightly curled.
