Ortica Simpatica, Easter lunch table!🥚🐣🐥
{it’s almost ready! 🍽️}
I apologize to everyone for the absence. I had obligations and problems at home before, which I would not talk about. Thank God, I’m back again and hopefully I’ll be on Tumblr more often these days. Although it has passed, I wish everyone a happy Easter, the day when Jesus Christ was resurrected! This new drawing, which I drew all night, was related to two special events. First because of Easter, and second because today is my birthday! I wanted to make a special drawing, but due to impossibility I didn't arrive, so because of this holiday, I did this. Yes, for the first time in this drawing, I put 25 characters from Donald's family and his friends and enemies. As you can see not everyone stopped and some look smaller so I apologize for that. Anyway, this is a family lunch where the whole Duck family gathered with their rivals and friends and they all almost stopped at Donald's selfie. Yes, Donald was helped by his nephews, since he is not skilled with new technology. He also wears a new sailor suit. Since eggs are eaten for Easter, this drawing is mostly colorful chocolate eggs and Easter cakes, since ducks do not eat ducks. In this drawing, if anyone doesn't know besides Donald, there are also Daisy Duck, Huey, Dewey and Louie Duck, April, May and June Duck, Minima de Spell (Magica's niece), Magica de Spell, Scrooge McDuck, Gladstone Gander, Gus Goose, Fethry Duck, Grandma Duck (Elvira Coot), Gyro Gearloose and his nephew Newton with Little Helper, Brigitta MacBridge, Goldie O'Gilt and her granddaughter Dickie Duck, Flintheart Glomgold, John D. Rockerduck and his partner Jeeves (Lusky), Ludwig von Drake and Scrooge's sister Matilda. I combined European comics with Barks and Don Rosa comics in my own way. Sorry I didn't add more Easter decorations as well as the Easter dish itself, unfortunately not everything mattered and sorry for my bad drawing. I wish everyone a happy Easter and this is my gift to all who follow me and to all who love Donald and his family, as well as Duckverse himself. Happy Easter once again!

This will going to be one of the most stressful Easter Sundays. Ugh.
Wish me luck. Can't wait for Tuesday.

Some Easter decorations because the little ones were visiting yesterday.
Spring flowers from the garden and a souffléd brioche bread and butter pudding ready for the oven, it was made with lemon curd and zest and blueberries as a good contrast to the sweet bread.
Finally, my lovely Pasqueflower (Pulsatilla vulgaris - a member of the Buttercup family) has flowered in a very timely manner seeing as it's strongly associated with Good Friday and the whole Easter period.
The striking purple Pasqueflower is now a very rare plant in the UK, restricted to just a few chalk and limestone grasslands and found on only a handful of nature reserves. It flowers in the spring, usually around April, its petals sitting cushioned on feathery leaves. Legend has it that Pasqueflowers sprang up in places that had been soaked by the blood of Romans or Danes because they often appeared on old barrows and boundary banks. However, it's more likely that these sites are favoured because they tend to be undisturbed chalk grassland.
A Show Stopping Smoked Salmon Platter for Easter
I’ve had a Cameron Stovetop Smoker for years now and in the past used it often. For some reason, I got out of the habit of using it, but recently pulled it out and smoked some chicken! It was so delicious that the other day, I decided to smoke a side of salmon! OMG it was such a treat and soooo easy! The hardest part of using this little smoker is washing it and Baldy is so good at it that I just let him do it…it’s a good trade, he gets to eat the delicious food and I don’t have to wash the dishes!
Anyway, after that first salmon experiment, I thought it would be fun to make a platter and surround the salmon with delicious garnishes, somewhat inspired by a Salad Nicoise! It turned out better than I could have hoped…it was beautiful and so delicious! After I finished artfully arranging the other ingredients around the salmon, I drizzled it with a simple maple vinaigrette (since I used maple smoking chips), squeezed a bit of lemon juice over the salmon and added a few slices of lemon! Wow, it really was a showstopper and I’ll definitely be making this often! I think this recipe will serve 4 adults generously. You could always add more of the “garnishes” or serve with another vegetable. I’m serving it for Easter lunch and will probably smoke two pieces of salmon for six adults and two children. I never mind leftovers…in fact, I have just a bit left in the refrigerator that I’ll put on avocado toast later today and that will be such a treat for my lunch!
I hope you enjoy this recipe!
If you don’t have a smoker, you could grill or roast the salmon in the oven and it would still be delicious! Don’t let that stop you from trying this recipe!
