Defensive preparations were made in earnest at Greymane's Wall just north of Gilneas City. We prepared three lines of defence which included trenches, bunkers, barricades, barbed wire, anti-personnel and anti-tank traps, along with the entirety of the 47th Infantry Regiment soldiers who could stand and fight. We also had several civilian militias and mercenary companies assist us with the defence.

The Horde attack began at ~18:20 and they assailed our front lines, which crumbled fast. I myself was in the first line of defence and pulled back to see if I couldn't get reinforcements before the second line of defence fell under the Horde's onslaught.

Finally, the third and last line of defence held strong for as long as they could but after taking heavy casualties I gave the order for a general retreat.

We fell back beyond Greymane's Wall and fought a retreating action to delay the Horde so we could evacuate the wounded as well as the rest of the soldiers and civilians. Portals were hastily opened up which allowed us to safely pass through and get back to Alliance-controlled lands, however leaving Gilneas entirely to the Horde.

The situation on the northern Eastern Kingdoms has now become untenable. I am requesting an additional four infantry Regiments as well as naval and air support be moved into the area; intelligence suggesting the Horde may try and advance further south to Ironforge if left unchecked.
