THE REPLACEMENT by jouissant/ @moontowers , an @easycobigbang story COMING APRIL 16TH
Strange Trails, by @antiquecompass, a fanfic for the @easycobigbang challenge
Not everyone was a wolf or a descendant of the first loup-garou to inhabit the swamp; some of them came from a long line of healers, others the spell-casters, and most of them had a magical mixture in their make-up. They were all guardians though, raised from birth to protect this land that had been theirs for over two hundred years.

Or: The Hogwarts AU.
Look this fic is so me, what with the modern fantasy au, and all the dated pop culture references, and the sarcasm. I just really had to share this bit of dialogue with you because it essentially sums up all you need to know about this fic:
“What?” Babe asked.
Julian wiped his eyes, took a deep breath, and started laughing again.
“Seriously, what?”
“I guess you really are the Babe with the power,” Julian finally stuttered out between laughs.
Babe immediately turned to Spina and Bill. “Don’t,” he ordered.
“Sorry,” Bill said.
Spina cleared his throat and started a truly loud and atrocious rendition of Magic Dance.
BoB Big Bang fic snippet...
Hope you’re all having a great weekend! If you’re interested, here’s a first draft snippet from my Big Bang fic… ~ The moon is shrouded, wrapped in a cover of cloud that they could really have done with on another night, another patrol, and Haguenau is still, tense, waiting for a prisoner snatch that won’t happen. He’s not sure how long he sits there, flipping his pencil against his typewriter absent-mindedly, but it’s long enough that he’s startled when there’s movement behind him. “You can’t have finished that report already.” The room is silent a beat too long to be normal. Dick turns. “Nix?” A clumsy knock follows and Dick frowns, squinting against the dark. “Enter.” A figure steps forward quietly, smudged by shadows. Dick’s skin prickles with unease. “Sorry to trouble you, Sir.” “Who-?” The rest of the question freezes in his throat as an inky silhouette walks towards him, stepping slowly into the lamp light. And Dick’s blood runs cold. Standing just two steps away from him, and grinning, is Corporal Donald Hoobler. It can’t possibly be, but no matter how hard he pinches the inside of his wrist or bites the inside of his mouth, the ghost of Hoobler doesn’t go away. It just smiles brighter. “Hoob?” “Yes, Captain Winters, sir,” the boy grins, sitting down in the chair Nix was sprawled in earlier. Dick blinks again. “Oh, shit,” the boy, if it’s really a boy at all, asks quickly. “Permission to sit, sir?” If Dick wasn’t looking at a man long dead, and if his heart wasn’t pounding against his chest so hard he feels like he can’t breathe, he might even laugh.
More and story summary under the cut

“Granted,” he mutters automatically, paralyzed by shock. It’s fractionally easier to breathe when he reasons that he must be dreaming, but the spectre of Corporal Hoobler is still talking to him. “I don’t see as you’d dream of me, Captain Winters,” he says brightly as though responding to Dick’s voice instead of his unspoken thoughts. Dick reaches out, touches olive drabs and the solidity of a body and instantly snaps his hand back. As impossible as it is, a boy that looks and sounds exactly like Donald Hoobler – who is Donald Hoobler – is sitting right in front of him. Something in his chest twists to see him here, when he’s not really here, when the evidence of his stolen life is right there; a tiny hole and a sprawling blood stain saturating almost the whole of his left pant leg. “Hoobler,” Dick attempts, voice strained. “How are you here?” ”I’d try and explain, but I don’t have much time, and I’m not allowed to say much.” The trooper looks around quickly, down at his hands where his fingers seem to be disappearing at the edges in little wisps of skin colored smoke. Dick inhales deeply. “That was a fine thing you did today, Sir,” the ghost continues, tone determined. “A really good thing.” His smile and the way he fidgets is reminiscent of Nix’s enthusiasm earlier. “Someone noticed.” Dick’s heart squeezes in panic and his spine stiffens. “Sink knows?” “No,” Hoob splutters in surprised laughter like Dick’s misunderstanding is endlessly amusing to him. “Someone much more important.” Title: The Underside of the Dice Premise: Parallel AU Pairing: Winnix, Speirton and other background pairings Story summary: Easy company was at its breaking point, on a tipping scale between life before and life after the war. Dick, it would seem, was no different. When he reneges an order for a second prisoner snatch, fate decides that one good deed deserves another, and on the night that Nix writes his bogus report into the early hours, Dick wakes to find himself in another place, in another time, and in a reality in which he is dating Lewis Nixon III.
ART MASTERPOST for the @easycobigbang story THE REPLACEMENT by jouissant/@moontowers. Click the pictures for captions, but beware of spoilers.
In a universe where humans colonized the solar system along Cold War lines, it's possible to create AI "replacements" of the fallen. In theory, replacements are perfect copies: same body, same memories, same consciousness, and Dick Winters has his reasons for wanting no part of them. But when the war turns hot and Dick dies senselessly on a combat mission, Nix impulsively arranges for his replacement. When Dick returns to the troopship Toccoa, everything has changed, except—theoretically—him. Now he must accept an unwanted new identity, while Nix comes to terms with his reasons for refusing to let Dick stay dead.
