So, I had a second health wake up call in June, same as in 2019 when I had an unexpected 6 day hospital stay. This time I was more aware of my discomfort and realized I needed medical intervention, so I made an appointment with the doctor. I thought I was going to be patted on the head and sent off to the pharmacy with an antibiotic prescription. Instead, they said I needed to go directly to the emergency room and gave me a note to hand to them. Luckily I wasn’t there overnight, but spent about 5 hours in the triage unit getting iv fluids and intravenous antibiotics, then sent home with a prescription for more antibiotics. I am listening this time, self care is now mandatory for me. Eating for healing my body now, not for my tastebuds and emotions. Taking meds as prescribed, not just when I think about it. Owning that if I want to be active and feel good and not be in the doctor or hospital all the time, changing what I eat is vital. So LOTS of veggies as the main meal and everything else as a side is my new thing. #eatforhealth #vegetablesforhealing #eatmostlyplants #stopstayingsick #selfcare #justdecide #kidneyinfection #highbloodsugar #highbloodpressure #type2diabetes https://www.instagram.com/p/CftcvxSOdzG/?igshid=NGJjMDIxMWI=
