Race on!

No good at sports but love fashion? Adorn this season’s sports luxe trend and get into the Olympic spirit. So how do you master this trend without looking like you’re on the way to the gym?

This trend is full of racer backs, mesh, cut out sections, loose fitting trousers and bomber jackets. Rach gives her tips on how to rock this look; even during our wet summer.

Team a body con mesh pencil skirt with a crop top; colourful trainers and a colourful clutch.

Stella McCartney (who has designed GB team strip)’s two colour-block racer back dress has been seen on Kate Moss and Yasmin Le Bon. Asos has a great high-street version for only £32! This one has a zipped front and comes in either cream and black or blue and yellow. I am definitely purchasing one of these beauties!

If you want to show your support for GB team, try to broaden your horizons – don’t opt for a Union Jack minidress à la Geri Halliwell; go classy instead and wear River Island’s GB collection.

Big for Bulgari

My piece for the May newsletter at work on Bulgari:

Back in April, we had the pleasure of attending the Bulgari presentation by Morag Blazey. This was as a result of the Employee Engagement Survey where people throughout the office stressed that they would like to know more about Ebiquity and how our daily work is used by clients.

The presentation compared Bulgari to its main competitors in the fragrance market – Marc Jacobs, Chanel, Dior, Hermes, D & G, Giorgio Armani, YSL, Gucci, Chloé and Paco Rabanne – with regards to the brand’s market positioning, colour usage, strategy, the characteristics of the advert, the photographer or director behind the campaign and the models used. The findings of each company were compiled together to show where Bulgari currently stands in the marketplace in relation to its competitors.

Morag revealed that Bulgari had thought they were an edgy, lifestyle brand due to the use of wild animals in their campaigns. They were dismayed to find out that their advertising techniques places them more at the classic, product focused end of the spectrum. It will be intriguing to see if Bulgari has made any changes this year!

We would like to thank Morag for a very interesting presentation and giving employees the chance to be able to see the impact their work has on international brands like Bulgari.

Morag will be delivering more presentations throughout the year. The next one will be the Advertising Intelligence 2012/2013 Business Plan and in June the topic will be key marketing trends for 2012.
