Magic!!

In Ebonwing, there are 8 major schools of magic, you're probably familiar with most if not all of them.

abjuration= support spells: wards, enchantments, force-field generation

conjuration= creation or transference of an item, object, or being

necromancy= manipulating the forces of death: reanimation, undead control, immortality???

illusion= creating life-like images, altering the forces of nature

transmutation= Transforming or otherwise moving living or nonliving things

invocation= influence over minds or emotions: telepathy, manipulation

divination= gathering information

auramancy = mending people, nature, items, etc.

Every spell can be classified into one or more of these schools, the ones that fit into multiple are called fusions, and in the EBU (Ebonwing Universe-- It's a working title) magic exploration and development is something people are still averse to, there are some who devote themselves to the study of magic and try to create new fusions including main character Symon, but most are fine with viewing magic as a set list of spells. I hope this all makes sense but I'm happy to explain more when/if anyone has questions!
