Primeira edição da FLIPOP reúne autores e leitores e é um sucesso

A FLIPOP – Festival de Literatura POP aconteceu nos dias 07 e 08 de julho no auditório do Pavilhão Amarelo do Expo Center Norte, na Zona Norte de São Paulo. O evento foi idealizado pela Editora Seguinte, selo jovem do Grupo Editorial da Companhia das Letras, e tinha como objetivo principal promover encontros e debates para os leitores jovens, uma vez que não existe um festival literário voltado para esse público.

Durante todo o final de semana aconteceram 08 mesas com debates voltados à literatura contando com a presença de autores nacionais e internacionais. Os temas variavam entre o poder da internet nos dias de hoje, passando por um debate sobre o que é ser fã e, claro, dicas para construir uma boa narrativa. Durante cada debate era possível perceber o entusiasmo dos participantes em busca de conhecimentos para construir bons enredos e ganhar novos leitores.

A autora Chris Salles é um grande sucesso na plataforma Wattpad e contou que nem tudo são flores nesse meio digital. Foi publicando online que ela conseguiu contrato com uma grande editora, mas para isso, ela precisou batalhar bastante para conseguir atingir um bom número de leitores.

Já Socorro Acioli, autora premiada, aproveitou seu espaço no debate para contar um pouco de sua carreira e suas dificuldades para aprender a arte da escrita. Acioli que já foi aluna de Gabriel Garcia Márquez, diz sentir falta de criatividade nos novos autores. Para ela, é importante que as pessoas escrevam sobre aquilo que conhece, sair um pouco do clichê é mais que necessário. É necessário que os autores saibam sobre o que estão escrevendo e nem sempre ficar preso em uma tendência literária, afinal, o processo para se criar um livro desde sua escrita até a impressão é longa, e ninguém pode garantir o sucesso de uma obra.

O norte-americano Benjamin Alire Sáenz, participou da mesa sobre seu lançamento “ A Lógica Inexplicável da Minha Vida” e contou sobre o motivo pelo qual ele escreve para os jovens. Sáenz acredita que falta diálogo entre os adultos e os mais novos, o que em suas palavras é um erro, já que todos nós possuímos problemas e deveríamos nos ajudar. O autor foi aplaudido em pé por duas vezes ao falar sobre a importância do amor ao próximo. Sua palestra foi considerada a mais emocionante, deixando diversas pessoas com lágrimas nos olhos.

Ficou claro para todos os que participaram no evento que a proposta era aproximar mais o leitor do autor, tanto que, em nenhum momento os seguranças precisaram ser acionados. Todos andaram livremente, sempre muito simpáticos e atenciosos.

Para uma primeira edição, a FLIPOP mostrou que veio para ficar e aguardamos que outras editoras apoiem esse projeto. E que venha a segunda edição!

March was another busy month for us with lots of improvements. Among the biggest enhancements this month are:

A major overhaul of our font conversion service for Elements speeding up performance and provides greater stability (Elements)

It is now possible to add imges, links and videos to Elements (Desktop Publisher)

FlexPaper Zine now takes page labels (if any exist in the PDF) into consideration when displaying the page number in the toolbar. (Desktop Publisher)

Optimized saving backgrounds for Elements so that they are saved in SVG when available and not saved at all if the background is all white (Elements)

Significant improvments in publishing speed for Elements (Desktop Publisher)

Improved pixel accuracy in images/text for Elements (Desktop Publisher)

Performance improvements to Slide mode in Elements (Destop Publisher)

Added the ability to save Zine styles as new templates which will appear in the template drop down list if saved (Desktop Publisher)

Minor enhancements and bug fixes:

Slovak language added to our viewers (Classic,Zine,Elements)

Added the ability to draw links, videos, images outside of the page area and fixed an issue where resizing the editor wouldn't reposition elements properly (Desktop Publisher)

Added the ability to select text in Zine when zoomed in with flip book mode activated (Zine)

Improved link detection so that links are kept better intact (Zine, Desktop Publisher)

Lots of improvements for text positioning for Elements (Desktop Publisher)

Fixed an issue where two fold publications would not apply annotations in the right positions properly (Zine)
