It may be easy, in some ways, for a human to come to terms with the Wood Bots' tireless search for knowledge throughout the galaxies and dimensions, because we can tell ourselves it's like being a scientist, or being nosy. But it's what they do with their newfound information we haven't been able to fathom. One wonders whether it is knowing for knowings sake. However, we all have heard that the living forestplanet of Ximia from where they emerge functions as a singular consciousness, which could indicate realms of thought inconceivable to our small disassociated brains. Whether it’s video games or musicals, one or both of them is mostly in the dark about the topic and it’s either up to the internet or a close friend to help shed some light on the subject. Really, it’s kind of like when your parents try to tell you what Fortnite is. Painful.

Honey, do you intend on updating "everything but the kitchen sink"? Not fair to make me addicted to it and abandon the fic lol keep going, it's amazing! Congrats

Nonny! Are you StarChild, the person who just left a review on my story?  My email booped saying I had a new review and it happens to have a very similar message.  XD  (I assume you are.)

Let me reassure you, EBTKS is not abandoned.  I was writing my other Kakasaku story (Ninja Dorks) exclusively during July through November.  It’s finished now, so all my attention is on EBTKS. 

I wrote approximately 5k of EBTKS during May/June but I wasn’t happy with what I had.  There were some scenes I wanted to include but I could find the right place for it.  Other pieces felt a little forced and Kakashi is an uncooperative asshole who flips me off every time I make him jump through another hoop.

In December I started an a fresh draft of chapter 4 instead of working from the old one to see where it takes me.  That baby is at 12k and I have two more scenes to write.  I still have to do a lot of editing so I might lose 3k since I delete about 30% of my work between rough draft to final version.  (My rough drafts earn their name.)  Either way, the chapter will be hefty.

But no, not abandoned!  Thanks for the message!  I meant to update the Author’s Note in chapter 3 to update readers a few weeks ago and I forgot.  Said action has been taken now, so people don’t lose hope.

He sits on the end of his bed as he considers all of this in gloomy contemplation, and is still there when she emerges from his bathroom wearing a pyjama set of white shorts and a matching camisole, both dotted all over with little blue flowers, and the clothes she wore on the train are folded over the arm she's got tucked to her chest. She crosses the room, unzips an empty compartment in her suitcase, shoves her clothes in there, rummages around for a bit, and finally stands up, now holding a yellow wash bag.

She isn't wearing a bra, her nipples are taut beneath thin, clinging cotton, and in that precise moment she looks as if she's been manifested directly from his every wildest fantasy, just to bring him torment.

He couldn't feel more desperate to touch her—to hook his fingers in the waistband of her shorts and pull her close, tease a strap of that flimsy little nothing she calls pyjamas down her shoulder and take one of those pert, exposed, fucking perfect nipples in his mouth—if she had sauntered out of the bathroom naked.

"Jesus," she exhales, looking down at him. "I've never seen someone look so upset to be sharing a room with me and I was regularly forced to bunk with my sister on family holidays."

It is, perhaps, a small mercy that she has mistaken his expression of tortured lust for general dismay. "Your sister doesn't like you?"

"Nope."

"Why not?"

She shrugs and heads for the bathroom again. "Must be because I'm an absolute hellbeast."
