Any Gravity Falls fans going to ECCC? I'll be hosting a stamp rally with four other talented artists. Swing by our tables and grab a card to win these awesome prizes (and get some other cool merch at our tables👀)! My contribution is a Mabel blind bag keychain!
I'll be at D26!
ECCC IS UPON US
The last few years at con, way more people have said, "OMG DID YOU CROCHET ALL THAT?" rather than say "knit that???" which was the standard for years.
Which is great! I love my art form of choice being recognized as crochet and appreciated as such. I love that people have learned the difference one way or another and I don't spend as much time having to correct people ("It's crochet," I always say. "I can't take credit for knitting; I can't do it." because 1) I want my art form recognized, and 2) I don't want anyone to think I'm mad they guessed wrong when knitting is just more known as an art form.)
Anyway, as I was walking around in Big Barda on Saturday at ECCC, a guy says, "OMG DID YOU CROCHET THAT?!"
"Sure did," I said.
"That's amazing!" he said, then took a step like he was gonna walk past me and and then turned and said, "It's Big Barda, right?"
"Yup!"
"Awesome!" Another half-step forward, then another turn. "Sorry, you said it was crochet, right? And it IS crochet?"
"Uh-huh. All crochet. I can't knit."
"Cool. Just wanted to be sure because crocheters don't really mind if you guess it's knitted, but I've guessed wrong and asked if something is crochet when it's knit and the knitters...aren't always okay with it."
And when I tell you I laughed. Just. I fucking love con.

Last post, plus some sillies :)
Somehow, not pictured were the tiny red wings sewn on the back of my partners tunic so we could actually walk around the con without issue lol
I sewed both our costumes, and styled both our wigs, cried the whole time, actually skewered my finger through the nail and out the other side with my sewing machine, BUT IT WAS ALL WORTH IT CUZ WE LOOKED AMAZING.
I would additionally like to receive praise for not losing a single staple during the entire 12+ hours we were out 😩😩💖
Tabling at #ECCC Artist Alley F21 with a variety of prints, books, omamori, and other things I made.
eccc but I’m not actually there and I’m instead looking at people’s posts about Mads and Hugh and calling it a day
The fucking horror of meeting thepandaredd by chance, asking him for a photo & to complete my dc sidequest (signing a found family fanfic), and only THEN recognizing my favorite YouTuber
