yeah I was discussing this with Cads on Discord yesterday; I find it fascinating how relatively new contactless payment seems in areas (especially rural areas in the US, because I myself live in what is effectively the middle of nowhere) over there.

now granted, it's not gonna phase out other forms of pay here for a multitude of reasons, but we've had it for... a few years, now? so I think a lot of folks over here in Scotland just assume that, because we have it, and we're usually not the first to implement things like this, that the US probably has it widely adopted too. :0
