: Your character walking in on mine waiting in bed for them.
It had been a while, according to the clock above the door frame in the room. He'd been expecting her back for a while now, yet no appearance. Whether the Doctor had fallen asleep or not, he wouldn't remember, and would most likely forget later on.
The door was moving, and he sat up straight on the bed, hoping that this time, he was in the right house, and that it was actually her to find him.
It hadn't occurred to him to plan anything extravagant, because it was a one time thing, right? Right.
Next time, he would give her less hints as to when he was coming across to visit, and how he would appear. Because as of now, he appeared as usual, plus his leather jacket, minus the hat.
The leather jacket was very nostalgic, and in fact it suited him. He knew she liked some sorts of leather, and had his fingers (mentally) crossed that this was the type. It would hopefully be on the floor at the end of the night anyway, so it didn't really matter.
"Hello, sweetie." He grinned up at her.

Oh. Hello.
Dead Man Walking//Open
The TARDIS was unhappy again. She’d kicked him out. They hadn’t even had an argument! The Doctor had no luck, even with women who weren’t really women in that sort of sense. He wasn’t even sure where he was. He was standing on a street corner. It was evening. Given the general noise, he was in a city. It was probably a Friday or Saturday night, since there seemed to be a reserve drunken level in the people around him.
He wasn’t looking very well. Bright lights hurt his head. He hadn’t shaven his face in a few days. If it wasn’t for the fact his clothes were clean and pressed, he would have looked homeless. Also, homeless people are not known to wear bowties.
At last, he managed to turn and grab the sleeve of someone who walked past him.
“Excuse me,” he murmured. “Could you tell me where I am?”
