To clarify: I loved it. My heart is now in tiny little pieces, but I loved it.
oh!! well, thank you then
I realise when I follow a blog specifically for Anders/Karl I shouldn't expect kittens and rainbows and happiness but dude... brutal...
i can’t understand how serious you are so just in case sorry if i made you feel too uncomfortable!!
entire kanders ship for me is a bunch of bittersweet memories, and a tragic end makes it even more precious. that’s why everything-is-ok AU isn’t my cup of tea tbh
You keep mentioning French and Italian musical versions of Romeo and Juliet, can you give more details about your favourites?
w-what favourites—
s-so as you might have noticed my favourite performance is Eyzen’s the 2010 french cast’s.(Eyzen is the actor who plays Mercutio since 2007 Here’s a picture of him standing next to Romeo and Benvolio)
(I need to mention that this is a v. accurate representation of french musicals, please note all the glitter, sparkles and rainbows. If you’re into a little bit of ‘90s feels french musicals are going to be perfect for you.)
You can watch the musical translated to english on OperaGhostette’s account, here’s part 1 (they also uploaded all of act 1 separately, if you watch that first then act 2 starts around part 6)
other english translations I know of:
Original French Cast (on youtube)
official Hungrian Cast (on youtube)
subtitles for the italian one; there’s no video buuut you probably can download video and subs separately and watch them together (here’s one vid on youtube)
(though I think my second most favourite version is the Israeli one)
8, 14, 22 and 25 (it's only fair ;) )
8. What is your favourite piece that you have done?
Likely this one (and I’m sure you’re not surprised by this answer):
(see here for references used)
14. What do you like drawing the most?
Probably animals!
22. List at least one of your “artspirations.”
Oh man, so many. And… many of them are actually cartoonists, I realized, as I was thinking up this list. The first artists that immediately come to mind, though, I’m almost hesitant to list because I’m always so scared of directly copying them: Ralph Steadman (though my handwriting is naturally pretty reminiscent of his style, and always has been), Dave McKean, Ben Templesmith, Pia Guerra (except I only know her art through Y: the Last Man… but that’s enough to put her right into my favorites), Tony Moy… also, special shoutout to Terry Huddleston because I do love his art but he’s also a Pacific Rim fan. Hell yeah! (I said that last part more for the benefit of anyone else reading this cause you already knew that hahaha OF COURSE!)
And these are the cartoonists: Jeff Smith (the way he draws expressions is incredible), Herge, Bill Watterson, Alan Silberberg (such a huge influence), Stephan Pastis…
And I ALSO LOVE EVERYTHING @eckses DRAWS!
I could probably just go on and on and on. In fact, I probably WILL later in an email, hahah…
25. Draw a picture!
Haha I guess it’s a follow-up to question 14! Here’s a bison that doesn’t really look like a bison :/
A lot of my ink splatters come from the fact that I didn’t learn the “correct” way to use a pen nib until long after I’d been using them, so I was basically destroying them and also splattering all over the place. And then I never corrected myself. (Just realized I can count this as Inktober 4.)
