Prompt 7
I came across a resource on the ABC website for grade 6 students that focused on Australian citizens and their involvement in media. Although I found the resource to be great, I strongly believe that the grade 6 students would be incredibly bored when completing the task. It was lacking in excitement. I urge everyone to take a look on the website as there are many other resources exciting, captivating and interactive resources to choose from.

PROMPT 4 (RESPONSE) 2018)
Before, during and after watching the video I constructed a RAN chart in regards to phonics and the importance and methods of teaching this strategy to students.
PROMPT 5 (RESPONSE) 2018)
Because the focus is on multimodality, I have decided to collate each question onto a powerpoint, however, each question as a different type of activity. This allows students to explore the front cover of the text in different ways, allowing for ideas and themes to be drawn out and it equips students with investigation skills.
Whilst searching the picture book hashtag, the thing that stuck out to me the most was the amount of positivity and love for stories on the posts. People were using sentences like ‘privileged’ to have been apart of creating a story, or ‘happiness’ at a new release of a picture story book. It also really highlighted to me that people of all ages and backgrounds enjoy picture story books and all for different reasons. One user loved that she had ‘no idea what she was doing’ while trying to create a story while another loved the illustrations. All these people shared a common interest for the picture story book genre, but all had diverse reason for said enjoyment.
Another note I made was a high number of people advertising their own picture story books using the hashtags, I would not have considered posting on tumblr as a way of advertising anything of my own that i could potentially create, so this was an interesting concept to me.
