Off topic: Did the president really look at the Eclipse without the proper glasses?
Twice actually, despite staff telling him to stop. I can't think of a better metaphor for his presidency than this.
Regarding the "Eclipse is racist" article, I'm sorry but how many African American people WANT to live in bumblefuck rural Kansas just in the off chance they get to see an eclipse and if they do who's to stop them? Rural America in the path the eclipse took is statistically poorer than inner cities, so obviously the race/poverty mumbo jumbo about the eclipse path is bullshit at best. There's just so much irony in that article, it's clear they didn't do any research other than spout buzz words
^^
That Atlantic article is a case-in-goddamn-point about thinking through your news hooks, holy shit. Way to turn a legitimate point (hey, this country is pretty segregated and there's people who can live their whole lives without meeting someone of a different race! let's talk about how any why, because that's pretty bad!) into a 'liberal bs' meme.
^^
It was incredible to be able to see the full eclipse, I just had to paint it
Getting to see the total solar eclipse through a telescope was the most amazing thing I’ve witnessed in my life. If you zoom in and go near the right lower part of the sun you can see two sunspots.
