You ever wonder what the story would've looked like if Hugo joined the Saporians while Varian was still with them? Just curious to hear your thoughts.

hmm, I think they probably would've had a much quicker progression to form bonds in this scenario because they have a common enemy (the rich lmao) and perchance maybe even trauma bond and allat <3 plus I can see Varian developing quite a strong attachment to Hugo cuz for the first time, he meets someone his peers that actually also knows and likes science as much as he do (the closest sense of normalcy he ever had in a while </3)

and I can just imagine when Varian gets redeemed, he will try to extend that to Hugo too and try to convince him to come with him, telling him he believes theres so much more to Hugo than this criminal life and that they can start over together as reformed individuals aaaaaa </3
