When Marathon started to pop up on my feed and I started to see what it was going to be, I was reminded of a lesser known HL2 mod called "Neotokyo" that came out in 2009. I got into Neotokyo sometime after it came out, maybe 2010, at it was pretty lowkey but servers we usually full. It was pretty interesting for its time, it had stealth mechanics, vision detection modes, multiple different weapons, a class system with advantages & disadvantages, with standard Counter Strike gamemodes. In my mind, even though it may never be stated anywhere official, Marathon seems like the spiritual successor to Neotokyo. Games have improved so much since 2009, but core mechanics are what makes them replayable and enjoyable. There may not be any players left who load up Neotokyo, but it's worth remembering. I highly recommend the soundtracks by Ed Harrison: GSDF / NSF

They can only hope that Eight doesn't hold it against them. Clearly the universe was conspiring.

Third year, third entry for the Abel Secret Santa exchange.  I went beyond overboard this year with this one. I guess I had so much fun imagining myself flying. I hope @moopledoodles or @mooplethemarsh likes their Secret Santa gift.

No one in Abel wanted to beta this monster of a story, and my eyes would probably bleed if I tried. I worked on this for almost 23 hours straight and don’t even want to see it for a week. So, this is an unrevised, dirty first draft. I hope Sam doesn’t have me on the roster for tomorrow because I’m beat and seeing double.

Maybe someday I might ask for this back, so I can polish it up a bit, but for now, it is out of my hands.

I would like to thank @runnerzero, @notforconsumption, @goblinsharkz, and @puptart for putting all of this together and posting it on the Noticeboard again.

Ed was one of the first people Five met while on one of her first runs for Abel, and she took to him and Molly pretty quickly. Ed earned a lot of respect from Five after their initial mission to rescue Molly, not to mention the fact that Five ADORES KIDS. Five doesn’t see Ed a whole lot anymore, but makes a point to go on a fuel run with him when she can to catch up a bit.
