Building a Building (1933)
Mickey is a bit of a bumbling construction worker who keeps hurting Peg-leg Pete at their work site. The cat snatches Minnie to get even but Mickey saves the day. Very polished short that's well animated, but the plot is a bit boring and doesn't do much with the construction setting. Mickey is cute though, they've really streamlined his design by this point.
A rough draft of a reanimation of two shots from Smurfs episode, “The Lost City of Yore”. This is my attempt at trying to resemble Ed Love’s animation work on the show. He is notable for animating hand gestures to the dialogue while avoiding it from being static and also known for using squash and stretch to improve the head bobs on the characters. He worked on Hanna-Barbera’s Huckleberry Hound, Yogi Bear, The Flintstones, The Jetsons and Scooby-Doo. The Smurfs are property of Peyo/IMPS/Lafig Belgium S.A. Audio track is property of Hanna-Barbera and Warner Bros.
I went back to a season 1 episode Ed Love animated and he’s one of my favorite animators for sure, he did great mouth shapes and just overall drawings (oddly enough though the first one looks like a Don Patterson mouth)
“Drooler’s Delight” (1949)
