losing my mind horribly and begging hoping this is not the route it is going because i will be the saddest human on the planet.
but. my friend and i. came up with a theory.
i feel very strongly with the “kim is not real” theory, not because i want to excuse eddie’s behavior, not because i don’t think he is capable of fucking his life over (trust me, i know what that man is capable of 😭) but because it makes . sense .
someone pointed out the dialogue kim says in the little clip we got and just how suspiciously it is tied into the ‘shannon of it all’ .
but basically i think: buck finds out what is going on, he reaches out to abuela on behalf of eddie because he knows he wouldn’t be able to do it himself (in that moment), explains to her what is happening and she decides to rein in extra reinforcements and that is how the diaz family end up in la.
sort of an intervention, basically. and by the end of it eddie realizes he does- really fucking does- need help. and so he agrees to go somewhere that can help him (sort of similar to how maddie left when she needed help, also just another parallel to them as characters!)
he asks buck to watch after chris for him while he is away, he doesn’t trust anyone else to watch after his son (as we know), maybe his parents *cough mom cough* say something, maybe they try to fight it, but ultimately the will is brought up and chris stays with buck.
thus also explains what ryan meant by a “fresh start” for eddie come season eight.
anyway. hoping this is super totally 100% off base and sounds insane and not a possibility BECAUSE III CANNOT 🧎♀️ HANDLE THIS 🧎♀️ but i had to share it
