you can! its called otherlink :D while being a therian (and other identities alike) is involuntary, if you really want to be nonhuman, you can be. (just please respect the other identities around here)

Supporting physical nonhumans and delusional nonhumans means you have to accept them.

So many people say they support physical and delusional nonhumans. But, supporting them means that you have to actually accept and include them in alterhuman spaces and discussions.

Supporting means stop saying shit like “as long as physical therians know their human its fine”. Some don't, some arent human in any way and they know they aren't. They shouldn't have to “know their human” to be considered valid. They shouldn't have to admit to being something they're not.

You are not them. Who are you to claim that what they experience is fake or invalid? Just because their reality is different from yours doesnt mean its any less real or valid.

You need to stop being fake.

Support them because they deserve your support, not because others are doing it too. Support them because they are misunderstood, or not even known about. Support them because they are a part of our community!

You have to help make the change of acceptance. THAT. Is support.

I hate that nonhumanity can only be expressed and accepted if its "pure! and whimsical! and perfect!" with no negative emotions attached.

cause there are bad (and perhaps gross) parts about therianthropy and alterhumanity and nonhumanity, and those also deserve to be accepted and expressed.

stop forcing folks to hide a part of themselves for fear of hate from their own community and make a safe space where nonhumans can be nonhuman, with all aspects of it. good and bad.

for example, a common thing I've seen is younger nonhumans shaming others because theyre nonhumanity affects their sexuality and/or how they experience sex.

one infamous case is when someone was selling animal packers and marketing them towards nonhumans. and then nonhumans on TikTok (mostly) made a big fuss about it, not understanding that nonhumanity can indeed affect all parts of someones existence.

(unfortunately TikTok just generally sucks so Theriantok sucking is a product of that)

another thing that I witnessed myself (on youtube) is nonhumans claiming that "therians don't act like animals!" HELLO???? sorry I'm gonna be a bit less organized here but...HAVE YOU SEEN LITERALLY ANY NONHUMAN???? ACTING NONHUMAN IS KIND OF A COMMON THING FOR THOSE WHO ARE NONHUMAN. arghhhhh this pisses me off so much. anyway..!

also, nonhumanity being caused by trauma and/or being an escape is very much a thing. saying stuff like "therians don't become therian, people are born therians" is ignoring the nonhumans who wouldn't be nonhuman unless something happened (like trauma). hmmm, It seems like avoiding potentially uncomfortable topics to keep up the glorified version of nonhumanity. (maybe I'm reading too much into this, idk)

ALSO (this was added on August 25) someones non-human identity being complicated, or hard to explain, or contradictory, or seeming unreal or impossible. I've seen that these identities don't get talked about often and that yes, it can be complicated and overwhelming at times.

there are probably 100 other examples of the more gritty side of nonhumanity being pushed aside, but these are the ones I've seen that are most prevalent.

things that aren't talked about enough in alterhuman spaces that IM GONNA TALK ABOUT!!! (& eventually share to YouTube):

otherhearteds (otherheartedness is often overlooked as being "lesser" than kinity, cause I guess connection isn't worth as much as being according to kintok😔 also people don't really know all the different ways one can be otherhearted)

otherlinks (OFTEN OVERLOOKED yet again as being "lesser" than kinity cause its chosen and often only mentioned as an alternative to being a "chosen" therian.)

factkins and facthearteds (literally just not talked about cause its controversial. btw I am neither pro or anti factkin)

biological nonhumans and also holotheres and generally those who are LITERALLY nonhuman and identify as such (physical nonhumans are accepted more nowadays, BUT, only if its non-literal, cause then if you literally identify as nonhuman then your "eww icky delusional get away from me" cause you just HAVE to "acknowledge your human" to be "valid" for some fucking reason.)

delusional nonhumans, and also how the support for them is SO FUCKIN FAKE AND PREFORMATIVE.

how nonhumanity can affect other parts of one s identity (like how someone experiences sex or their gender)

accepting and supporting said identities listed above BUT also actually incorporating them into conversations about alter/nonhumans and welcoming them into the community.

humankins and humanhearteds (woah that's me! I legit do not see ANY of us but I feel like there are more and they just don't know the terminology)

POC Alterhumans. (woah that's me! unfortunately its pretty white-centered over in alterhuman spaces :/)

disabled Alterhumans. (not me BUT there are many. this kind of ties into the "you have to do quads to be an alterhuman" stereotype in the way that its excluding disabled alterhumans who literally CANT)

alter/nonhumans ARE alter/nonhumans. no matter their race, gender, sexuality & orentation(or lack thereof), weight, disabilities, age, interests/hobbies, kintype, hearttype, linktype or otherwise. alter/nonhumans ARE alter/nonhumans. (this one I REALLY want to nail into peoples heads.)

NO ONE should be excluded. I will make sure of it.

and like I said before:

I love it when people are attacking gen-AI, hate it when they say "art made by actual humans"

(example: "AI 'art' is not art. art is made with intention and soul, art is made by actual humans, its possibly the most human thing! AI has none of that.")

Cause no! I am not a human (most times) and yet I still make art. Not everyone is human. PLEASE DONT ASSUME ALL ARTISTS ARE HUMAN!!!

A real artist does not mean they are a human artist.

hmmmm...been looking through the @this-is-alterhumisia blog (if u see this: hi hello!!) and I'm noticing that alterhumisia seems to overlap with sanism a lot of the time...hmmmmmmmm

and most of it goes like "oh so you think your not human, ummm that's weird and I don't like it so I'm just gonna call you mentally ill/delusional so I can prove my point that your weird and bad cause mental illness and delusions are weird and bad"

ever since I opened my eyes to Tumblr, seeing "delusional", "mentally unwell/ill" and "psychopath" being used as common insults really irks me :/

im not even those things (to my knowledge), but wow, people have really normalized demonizing those conditions cause no one seems to care about what it actually means.

like, its just so casually said! so casually incorporated and ingrained and its EVERYWHERE. even in places like the nonhuman community, "therians don't think their ACTUALLY animals!" "physical alterhumans are NOT delusional" "we know we're human"

specifically, i see a lot of excluding delusional nonhumans, why? because a lot of people associate delusion = less legitimate, worth less cause its "fake".

"cause obviously MY reality is the only real one, and in MY reality you're not physically nonhuman, so even though nonhumanity is a very personal experience, you must follow MY reality." is basically what they're saying.

ughhhhhhhhghghghghhhhh...I hate it when people use "empathy/sympathy" as a synonym for "decency"

cause it implies that to be decent to another being, you have to have empathy and/or sympathy for that being. which is like...no?? sure, it could help, as understanding is a common path towards respect and therefore: towards acting decent.

but still, you don't HAVE to understand someone to not treat them horribly. you don't even have to RESPECT someone to not treat them horribly!

understanding and empathy means nothing when mistreatment and hatred stays the same.
