Upper Rhine Valley, Germany
Edenkoben in Rheinland-Pfalz, Southwestern Germany, lies about halfway between Landau and Neustadt an der Weinstraße. It’s situated along the German Wine Route. This part of the Rheinland passed to Bavaria in 1815 following the Congress of Vienna, which reallocated many territories that had comprised Napoleon’s empire. Like other towns in the area, it has both a Roman Catholic and a Protestant church (recalling King Maximillian’s marriage to a Protestant princess). The little town has a considerable cultivation and trade in wine.
